Families Participate in Studio Institute Arts Workshop at Newark Arts Festival

We were pleased to host a free family event at Artfront Galleries in Newark in conjunction with A Creative Start, a showcase of work by young artists in Newark and East Orange participating in Studio Institute programs, which was presented as part of the 2023 Newark Arts Festival.

New Jersey families spent an art-filled afternoon last Saturday creating their own masterpieces at Artfront Galleries in Newark, surrounded by artworks created by pre-kindergarten and early childhood students participating in Studio Institute (Studio) programs at La Casa de Don Pedro Head Start Centers in Newark and the East Orange School District. Assisted by Studio artist instructors Maya Shae and Maria Valdivia, families and friends explored their own creativity, as they experimented with materials and learned some new techniques. The Creative Start exhibition is on view through October 14.
