New York artist Daniel Mantilla is finding and catching textures around his home!
Artists look with their hands as well as eyes. Artists can make rubbings to record textures they find.
What will I look at?
You will look at and feel various objects and surfaces around your home.
What will I create?
You will create texture rubbings using paper and crayons.
How can I share my artwork?
Show your artwork to somebody in your home! You can also hang it up somewhere. If you’d like, ask somebody to send a picture of your artwork to myart@studioinstitute.org, or post it on Twitter or Instagram with the hashtag #LookCreateShare.
