Artists For Humanity: Paint Studio Intern- Cloud-Based Surface Management System (Boston)
OVERVIEW
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented intern to join the Painting Studio team and support daily operations while leading an exciting project to develop a cloud-based surface management system. This internship will provide hands-on experience in digital systems, inventory management, and studio operations, while allowing you to make a direct impact on the studio’s efficiency and workflow around surface count and inventory numbers.
As an intern, you will have the opportunity to assist with the studio’s daily functions, contribute to the organization of inventory, and take the lead on
designing and implementing a cloud-based system to streamline surface and material tracking. You will work closely with mentors and studio staff, gaining exposure to the inner workings of a creative environment while developing essential skills in project management and technology integration.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Support the studio’s regular workflow, including managing materials, assisting mentors and artists, and ensuring the workspace is well-maintained and organized
Help set up and clean up after studio sessions, ensuring that tools and surfaces are available and ready for use
Lead the development of a cloud-based inventory management system for the Painting Studio
Design and implement a system that allows Painting Studio mentors to seamlessly access and manage inventory, including surfaces, materials, and tools
Ensure the system is user-friendly and tailored to the specific needs of the Painting Studio
Create an efficient organizational structure for inventory, categorizing supplies and surfaces for easy tracking and management
Implement tools and processes to help with inventory updates, audits, and real-time reporting
Collaborate with studio mentors to ensure the system meets operational needs and simplifies inventory management
REQUIREMENTS, SKILLS, AND QUALIFICATIONS
Ability to troubleshoot and critically think on solutions
Basic knowledge of cloud-based systems and digital inventory management tools
Strong organizational skills with attention to detail
Experience with project management and time management
Strong communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with mentors and studio staff
Basic knowledge of the arts or creative environments is a plus but
not required
COMPENSATION
$22.50 per hour
INTERNS WILL WORK 28 HOURS PER WEEK AND ATTEND A MANDATORY OFFSITE PROGRAM DAY ONE DAY PER WEEK WITH THEIR COHORT.
Internship Period: June 9 – August 8
Total Weeks: 9 weeks
Work Hours per Week: 28
Total Hours: 252
Workdays: 4 days per week onsite (Mondays – Thursdays)
Work hours will be 10 AM - 6 PM
PROGRAM DAY:
On Fridays, interns will attend an offsite program day with their cohort.
These hours are separate from the internship hours.
