Associated Black Charities: Arts Advocacy and Community Engagement Intern (Baltimore)
OVERVIEW
Are you passionate about arts, culture, and social justice? Join Associated Black
Charities as a Bloomberg College Arts Intern and help us document and amplify the work of Baltimore's vibrant Black arts organizations. This 9-week paid internship offers a unique opportunity to develop professional skills while contributing to meaningful community work at the intersection of arts advocacy and racial equity. There are two internships available, one focusing on internal communications and the other focusing on external communications.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Collaborate with prominent Baltimore arts organizations including the Black Arts
District, Black Genius Art Show, Bromo Arts District, and Black Water HouseCreate compelling multimedia content highlighting these organizations' impact on
Baltimore's cultural landscapeDevelop organizational profiles through research, interviews, and visual
documentationDesign social media content that promotes cultural programming
Build connections between arts initiatives and economic empowerment
Present your findings to ABC leadership and community stakeholders
REQUIREMENTS, SKILLS, AND QUALIFICATIONS
Interest in arts, culture, and community development
Strong writing and communication skills
Basic digital content creation abilities (photography, social media)
Self-motivation and ability to work both independently and collaboratively
Curiosity about how arts and culture can support community empowerment
Willingness to engage with community stakeholders and attend cultural events
COMPENSATION
$20 per hour
INTERNS WILL WORK 28 HOURS PER WEEK AND ATTEND A MANDATORY OFFSITE PROGRAM DAY ONE DAY PER WEEK WITH THEIR COHORT.
Internship Period: June 16 – August 15
Total Weeks: 9 weeks
Work Hours per Week: 28
Total Hours: 252
Workdays: 4 days per week onsite (Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays, Fridays)
Work hours will be 9:00-4:00
PROGRAM DAY:
On Wednesdays, interns will attend an offsite program day with their cohort.
These hours are separate from the internship hours.
