DC Independent Film Festival: Digital Marketing Intern (Washington, D.C.)
OVERVIEW
Two interns will work alongside DCIFF Summer professional staff as part of the team to
produce and deliver successful programs in fiction filmmaking, animation and film
production for youth. The internships will focus on: live-streamed conversations and
workshops, learning tools development; documentation and sharing online via film
and photography, website content development, and event management. Interns will
work alongside the Program Manager and Executive Director to craft effective,
original and imaginative ways to run our programs and to present them online, in the
classroom and at our final screening events. We are a high energy organization
dedicated to impact, fun and working together to make sure the digital arts are
relevant, valuable and have a respected space as both artforms and economic engines.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Training in filmmaking equipment, photography, and live-streaming tools
Collaborate with staff to understand program objectives and workflow
Assist in designing and implementing filmmaking and animation programs for youth
Develop educational tools and resources to enhance program delivery
Contribute to content creation for a youth-focused website, blog, and social media
Facilitate and document live-streamed workshops and discussions
Capture and edit short documentary content showcasing program activities
Support youth participants in hands-on filmmaking and animation projects
Assist in organizing a final project presentation event, including promotional materials
Compile and archive program footage, photography, and teaching materials
Participate in a DCIFF Intern Panel Discussion and showcase their work online
REQUIREMENTS, SKILLS, AND QUALIFICATIONS
Strong teamwork and communication skills
Interest in filmmaking, animation, digital storytelling, or education
Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
Basic experience with photography, video recording, and social media
Familiarity with Adobe Premiere and Photoshop (preferred)
Experience in live-streaming or event production (preferred)
Knowledge of youth engagement and teaching methodologies (preferred)
COMPENSATION
$22.50 per hour
INTERNS WILL WORK 28 HOURS PER WEEK AND ATTEND A MANDATORY OFFSITE PROGRAM DAY ONE DAY PER WEEK WITH THEIR COHORT.
Internship Period: June 5 – August 6
Total Weeks: 9 weeks
Work Hours per Week: 28
Total Hours: 252
Workdays: 4 days per week onsite (Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays, Fridays)
Work hours will be 10:00-6:00
PROGRAM DAY:
On Wednesdays, interns will attend an offsite program day with their cohort.
These hours are separate from the internship hours.
