Signature Theatre: Marketing Intern
OVERVIEW
The Marketing Intern at Signature Theatre will play a key role in executing marketing strategies, enhancing audience engagement, and fostering community and corporate partnerships. Working closely with the marketing team, the intern will develop digital content, manage social media initiatives, and conduct competitor research to strengthen Signature’s brand presence. Additionally, the intern will research and recommend strategic partnerships to expand audience reach and engagement. Over the course of the internship, the intern will compile their research, insights, and marketing expertise into a season proposal project, integrating partnership opportunities with digital and promotional strategies. This internship provides a hands-on, real-world experience in arts marketing, digital content creation, and strategic partnership development within a leading theatrical institution.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Marketing Campaign Execution – Assist in implementing ongoing marketing campaigns, including email marketing, audience engagement, and promotional initiatives to increase visibility for productions and programs.
Social Media Content Development – Maintain and update the social media content calendar, monitor industry trends, and catalog past and current content for strategic planning.
Competitor & Industry Research – Analyze marketing strategies, audience engagement tactics, and partnership models from peer institutions to inform Signature Theatre’s digital and promotional approaches.
Community & Corporate Partnerships – Research potential partners, develop outreach strategies, and draft activation ideas to expand Signature’s network and sponsorship potential.
REQUIREMENTS, SKILLS, AND QUALIFICATIONS
Marketing & Digital Proficiency – Base understanding of social media platforms, content creation, and audience engagement strategies; familiarity with marketing tools and analytics is a plus.
Research & Strategic Thinking – Ability to analyze competitor trends, identify audience insights, and propose data-driven recommendations for marketing and partnerships.
Organization & Project Management – Time-management skills and ability to balance multiple tasks. Experience with project management software (Asana, Trello, etc.) a plus!
Creative & Collaborative Mindset – Excellent communication, problem-solving, and teamwork skills, with the ability to take initiative and contribute innovative ideas.
By the end of the internship, the intern will have developed and presented a season proposal project, merging strategic partnerships, digital content strategies, and audience engagement initiatives to enhance Signature Theatre’s reach and impact. This internship is ideal for aspiring marketing professionals eager to gain real-world experience in arts marketing, brand development, and partnership building within a dynamic theatrical environment.
COMPENSATION
$22.50 per hour
INTERNS WILL WORK 28 HOURS PER WEEK AND ATTEND A MANDATORY OFFSITE PROGRAM DAY ONE DAY PER WEEK WITH THEIR COHORT.
Internship Period: June 2 – August 1
Total Weeks: 9 weeks
Work Hours per Week: 28
Total Hours: 252
Workdays: 4 days per week onsite (Mondays – Thursdays)
Work hours will be 10 AM - 6 PM
PROGRAM DAY:
On Fridays, interns will attend an offsite program day with their cohort.
These hours are separate from the internship hours.
