Spoke Art: Social Media and Marketing Intern (Boston)

OVERVIEW
The Summer 2025 BCAI Intern at SPOKE will lead social media and marketing efforts to enhance the visibility and impact of the organization’s arts programming. The intern will create compelling digital content, manage engagement across platforms like Instagram and Bloomerang, and design promotional materials to highlight SPOKE’s events and exhibitions. Additionally, the intern will collaborate with the Daniel Morrison Fellow to organize an end-of-summer outdoor showcase celebrating youth creativity. Through this role, the intern will gain hands-on experience in strategic marketing, community engagement, and arts administration, helping to expand SPOKE’s reach and deepen its connection with artists, youth, and audiences. 

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Develop and schedule content for SPOKE’s social media platforms, including Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, and Bloomerang. 

  • Assist in designing and distributing print and digital marketing materials to promote SPOKE’s events and exhibitions. 

  • Collaborate with the Daniel Morrison Fellow to create and execute an end-of-summer outdoor event showcasing youth art. 

  • Create and distribute a biweekly program newsletter highlighting youth and adult programs at SPOKE. 

REQUIREMENTS, SKILLS, AND QUALIFICATIONS

  • Strong written and visual communication skills for digital content creation. 

  • Experience or coursework in social media marketing, graphic design, or arts administration. 

  • Ability to work collaboratively with youth, artists, and staff in an educational setting. 

  • Proficiency in social media platforms and basic design software (e.g., Canva, Adobe Suite, or similar). 

COMPENSATION

  • $22.50 per hour

INTERNS WILL WORK 28 HOURS PER WEEK AND ATTEND A MANDATORY OFFSITE PROGRAM DAY ONE DAY PER WEEK WITH THEIR COHORT.

  • Internship Period: June 9 – August 8

  • Total Weeks: 9 weeks

  • Work Hours per Week: 28

  • Total Hours: 252

  • Workdays: 4 days per week onsite (Mondays – Thursdays)

  • Work hours will be 8 AM - 4 PM  

PROGRAM DAY:

  • On Fridays, interns will attend an offsite program day with their cohort.

  • These hours are separate from the internship hours.
