The Huntington Theatre: General Management Intern (Boston)

OVERVIEW
The Huntington Theatre is seeking a General Management intern for Summer 2025. The intern will assist the General Management team in many facets of general management and administration of the Theatre including contracting, coordinating company management and negotiating agreements with partners as needed.

The GM Intern will be responsible for the long-term project of an audit of the Housing system, maintenance and updates in an effort of providing appropriate accommodations for cast, designers and guests who are in need of temporary housing

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Management of Adobe Sign, Contracting, Company Management hiring/onboarding for seasonal hiring

  • Providing "welcome" materials and information for cast/crew/personnel housed by the company

  • Assist in room audit and coordinating with local vendors for housing support

  • Handling day-to-day administrative tasks, such as scheduling, correspondence, and record-keeping

  • Managing budgets and tracking expenses

  • Coordinating with production staff, including stage managers, designers, and crew members

  • Assisting with scheduling rehearsals and performances

  • Managing logistics for productions, including transportation and lodging for cast and crew

  • Assisting with maintaining the physical integrity of the theater and office locations and working with property managers when necessary

  • Responsible for all leases and contracts associated with building operations, including the theatres, administrative offices and the production center

  • Acting as a liaison between different departments and teams

  • Communicating effectively with new hires, including cast, designers and temporary Artistic Staff

REQUIREMENTS, SKILLS, AND QUALIFICATIONS

COMPENSATION

  • $22.50 per hour

INTERNS WILL WORK 28 HOURS PER WEEK AND ATTEND A MANDATORY OFFSITE PROGRAM DAY ONE DAY PER WEEK WITH THEIR COHORT.

  • Internship Period: June 9 – August 8

  • Total Weeks: 9 weeks

  • Work Hours per Week: 28

  • Total Hours: 252

  • Workdays: 4 days per week onsite (Mondays – Thursdays)  

  • Work hours will be 10 AM - 6 PM

PROGRAM DAY:

  • On Fridays, interns will attend an offsite program day with their cohort.

  • These hours are separate from the internship hours.
