Weitzman National Museum of Jewish American History: Marketing & Communications Intern (Philadelphia)
OVERVIEW
Join the Weitzman National Museum of American Jewish History as a Communications and Marketing Intern and gain hands-on experience in shaping how the museum connects with its audience. You’ll work closely with seasoned professionals in the Marketing and Communications department, contributing directly to projects that enhance public engagement, digital outreach, and institutional visibility. This internship offers an excellent opportunity to develop marketable skills in digital media, content creation, and strategic communication—all while playing a key role in the museum’s upcoming special exhibitions and programming.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Update Museum email platform: managing lists, organizing the image library, and
designing emailsWorking with Museum website platform: organizing and uploading images, creating web pages, and developing custom landing pages for advertising campaigns, maintenance for the "In The News" section and publishing press releases
Research advertising outlets and provide recommendations
Organize media kits
Update calendar listings and profiles on various platforms such as
Mommypoppins.com, Phillyfamilyfocus.com, Let’s Rallie, and LinkedInSocial Media: assist with generating ideas, creating assets, and management of
Museum's social content calendarAsset management: managing the image library for the marketing department to
ensure efficient asset managementAssisting in Visitor Experience and Programs on select days, including Family Day and Open for Free days
Shadowing professionals for a day in each of the following departments: Development, Membership, Programs, and Curatorial
REQUIREMENTS, SKILLS, AND QUALIFICATIONS
Strong organizational and multitasking skills
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, Constant Contact. Mailchimp, and WordPress a plus
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
Passion for marketing, communications, and the arts
COMPENSATION
$20 per hour
INTERNS WILL WORK 28 HOURS PER WEEK AND ATTEND A MANDATORY OFFSITE PROGRAM DAY ONE DAY PER WEEK WITH THEIR COHORT.
Internship Period: June 11 – August 13
Total Weeks: 9 weeks
Work Hours per Week: 28
Total Hours: 252
Workdays: 4 days per week onsite (Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays, Fridays)
Work hours will be 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM
PROGRAM DAY:
On Wednesdays, interns will attend an offsite program day with their cohort.
These hours are separate from the internship hours.
