Overview

The Cleveland Museum of Art seeks a Videography & Digital Asset Management Intern. In this role, interns will plan and execute a promotional video that assists in telling the story of the CMA’s mission of creating transformative experiences through art. This intern will provide an overview of the museum’s world-class collections, robust performing arts schedule, community arts programming, nightlife, and more.

We are seeking a visual storyteller to create an archive of b-roll that will be used for ongoing marketing efforts and implement an organizational system for video and other digital assets.

The primary deliverable for this intern to produce will be a completed 1–3-minute video piece that contributes to CMA’s overall brand campaign to be used for ongoing marketing efforts. This intern will also be responsible for developing a video storyboard for CMA’s brand campaign, creating an archive of museum b-roll, and implementing an organizational system for footage and other digital assets.  

The Videography & Digital Asset Management Intern will have the unique opportunity to work in many different settings during their time at the museum, allowing them to build a strong video portfolio for future internship and career opportunities. Interns will learn about the museum’s collections and image rights, how to create and execute a video storyboard, how to organize video shoots with internal museum partners, and how to edit videos from start to finish.

Position Filled:

Responsibilities

  • Interns should be proficient and knowledgeable of basic camera functions and video editing software. This individual must also be prepared to share examples of videography and/or photography work. 

  • Strong communication and creative problem-solving skills

  • The ability to work in a fast-paced environment

  • Working knowledge of the Microsoft and Adobe suites

  • Having an artistic eye as well as a collaborative spirit and willingness to interact with other departments at the museum and the public

  • Applicants must be currently enrolled in a bachelor’s program and can be pursuing a degree in a variety of disciplines including, but not limited to: Marketing, Communications, Visual Communications, Media Studies, Business, Art, Art History, and Museum Studies.

Compensation

  • $20.00 per hour

INTENS WILL WORK  28 HOURS PER WEEK AND ATTEND A MANDATORY OFFSITE PROGRAM DAY ONE DAY PER WEEK WITH THEIR COHORT.

  • Internship Period: June 10 – August 12

  • Total Weeks: 9 weeks

  • Work Hours per Week: 28 

  • Total Hours: 252

  • Workdays: 4 days per week onsite, Monday–Thursday

PROGRAM DAY:

  • On Fridays, interns will attend an offsite program day with their cohort.

  • These hours are separate from the internship hours.

Overview

The Stewardship and Donor Relations Intern will be an integral part of the stewardship and donor relations team, helping to support all areas the team is responsible for, including donor recognition and acknowledgement, donor and member programs and events, the donor travel program, project management of Cleveland Art members magazine, affinity and affiliate groups, and more. 

Responsibilities

  • Assist with donor acknowledgement and recognition 

  • Assist with planning and implementation for donor and member programs and events 

  • Provide administrative support for affinity and affiliate groups 

  • Assist with donor travel program 

  • Provide general support to the stewardship team

  • Plan member and supporter programs and events / prepare event materials

  • Assist with departmental mailings 

  • Assist with project management for Cleveland Art 

  • Assist with affiliate group membership renewals  

Requirements, Qualifications, and Skills

  • Interest in the arts a plus 

  • Previous work experience in nonprofits a plus 

  • Must be familiar with Microsoft Word / Excel 

Compensation

  • $20.00 per hour

Overview

The Community Arts Center, within the department of Community Arts (division of Public and Academic Engagement), seeks an enthusiastic Community Arts Center Intern who is interested in art making, arts education or arts administration to assist with programs at the CAC, the Cleveland Museum of Art’s art making facility and Studio Go, CMA’s mobile art van.

Responsibilities

The Community Arts Center Intern will assist in:

  • Facilitating the new teen summer camp at CMA’s Community Art Center (CAC) working in the studios with the artist and teens

  • Engaging participants at Studio Go festivals/events in community (mobile art van)

  • Developing 1–2 self-guided tours for CAC

  • Cataloging CAC inventory (puppets, floats, costumes)

  • Assisting with Maya Textile mini-exhibition at CAC (late summer TBD)

Internship Location: Community Arts Center, 2937 W. 25th Street, Cleveland OH 44113

Requirements, Qualifications, and Skills

  • Must be enthusiastic and interested in art making, arts education, or the arts

  • Must be a student who is pursuing a degree in Arts Education, Arts Administration, and/or Studio Arts with some studio art background

Compensation

  • $20.00 per hour

Eligibility
