The Museum seeks an intern who is diligent, detail-oriented, creative and communicative. They should be able to work as part of a team, receive feedback, and create accurate, high-quality content. The Marketing Intern should have experience with InDesign, Illustrator, and Photoshop. Video editing skills are encouraged but not required. Additionally, the intern should have familiarity with social media platforms and the Microsoft Office suite.
The internship will include mentorship opportunities and unique behind-the-scenes experiences at one of the largest science museums in the world.

Marketing Intern
The Griffin Museum of Science and Industry (Griffin MSI) Marketing Department is responsible for increasing brand awareness and presenting a compelling external visual representation of the Museum. The Marketing Intern will contribute to these goals through their work on the Museum’s summer branding campaign.
Responsibilities
The Griffin MSI Marketing Intern will:
Work with leaders across the Marketing department to support the campaign with social media, digital ads, and out-of-home advertising.
Contribute to the various components of a major ad campaign, including copywriting and marketing operations, with a particular focus on graphic design.
Become familiar with the Museum’s work, learn brand standards, review audience datasets, conduct competitor research and brainstorm campaign concepts
Work with teams across the department to develop media plans, build and present decks for different campaign options, create project timelines, reach out to media agency partners, and build and share graphic assets.

Compensation
$20.00 per hour
INTERNS WILL WORK 28 HOURS PER WEEK AND ATTEND A MANDATORY OFFSITE PROGRAM DAY ONE DAY PER WEEK WITH THEIR COHORT.
Internship Period: June 4 – August 7
Total Weeks: 9 weeks
Work Hours per Week: 28
Total Hours: 252
Workdays: Onsite; four days per week, 9AM–5PM
PROGRAM DAY:
On Fridays, interns will attend an offsite program day with their cohort.
These hours are separate from the internship hours.
Eligibility
To be eligible for Arts Intern 2025, you must be pursuing a bachelor’s degree and:
Currently enrolled as a full-time rising junior (a current sophomore)
– or –Currently enrolled as a full-time junior – or –
Currently enrolled as a full-time senior graduating by fall 2025.
You must either reside or attend college in Chicago.
