Background

The Newark School of the Arts (NSA) changes the lives of youth through access to quality education in the performing and visual arts.

We accomplish this by providing excellence in sequential education and training, offering an emerging state of the art learning environment, accepting students of all ages and abilities, and partnering with other successful arts educators while maintaining affordability and accessibility. NSA is a family and community oriented school that has served over 50,000 individuals since its inception, and provides education for up to 750 students each week.

INTERNS MUST BE AVAILABLE FOR THE DURATION OF THE PROGRAM.

Overview

The program and marketing intern will work Under NSA’s Director of Programs & Marketing to grow and advance the existing goals of NSA. This internship will provide opportunities to develop and enhance skills, such as time management, data analytics, program evaluation, and marketing, and will include interactions with the community and our partners to promote leadership and team work

Responsibilities

  • Assist with expanding our social media base

  • Participate in community outreach initiatives and collection of information necessary to assist with preparation of grant reports and program evaluations

Requirements, Skills, and Qualifications

  • Interpersonal and communication skills 

  • Knowledge of Office Suite, Google Suite, FB and IG

  • A passion for art and community

Compensation

  • $22.50 per hour

INTERNS WILL WORK 28 HOURS PER WEEK AND ATTEND A MANDATORY OFFSITE PROGRAM DAY ONE DAY PER WEEK WITH THEIR COHORT.

  • Internship Period: June 3 – August 5

  • Total Weeks: 9 weeks

  • Work Hours per Week: 28 

  • Total Hours: 252

  • Workdays: 4 days per week onsite

PROGRAM DAY:

  • On Fridays, interns will attend an offsite program day with their cohort.

  • These hours are separate from the internship hours.


 

Eligibility

Internship Application Process

  1. If you have received a confirmation email from Arts Intern indicating that you have been pre-approved and are eligible for the program, you can apply for any Arts Intern position in your city.

  2. You may apply for as many positions as you like. You do not have to submit the eligibility application more than once.

  3. To apply for a position at a specific organization, please refer to the information provided in your confirmation email.
